Perhaps I should apologize, - but I need to become rather personal in this post.

Unfortunately, I feel the time is more than ripe to talk about the TRUTH about how Christians all too often are "the worst in the class" when it comes to morals and honesty, particularly in the area of business.

This is how I found myself in the middle of a group of Christians during a visit
to Louisville, Kentucky in early late July or early August of 2012.  Only to just a few
WEEKS later experience the chock of being "stabbed in the back" by some from this
group, - with the result that I became very with at times serious health issues.

If you are a Christian, you may feel I am offending you now? The sad truth is that I have personally experienced this too many times!

And to make it clear to begin with:  This is NOT an attack on Christianity, God or Christians in general!

As a person who has in different areas of life been more active and some times known to be somewhat "untraditional in business", I have on at least 3 or 4 different occasions been directly "stabbed in the back" and even seriously hurt and damaged by "Christian brothers" in a business setting.  Last time was so extremely serious, and with such special circumstances that I was given the diagnosis of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Dysfunction).  This condition has SEVERELY reduced the quality of my life over the past three years.

Again, with the risk of becoming too personal I have to admit that at times during the past three years I have felt an almost desperate need for help, support and understanding in this situation.  However, what has made my experience almost twice as bad is that certain Christian brothers has responded and told me things which for me not only has been extremely chocking, - but also totally surrealistic!  Examples of which are the following:
  • When in the early part of 2012 I was so severely "overrun" and "stabbed in my back", (a story I may come back to in some more details later) I have been told that what happened and what was done was totally and 100% ok!  I have been told that I should be proud over the fact that "by baby" now was in a better home and probably would do much better in the future!  I could only sit there and think:  What if I was a woman who just had been severely raped?  And then your best friend is sitting there telling me that the rape was totally ok and that I should be happy and work with the rapist to bring forth the child inside me!
  • Or others who has told me something like this: "Yes, - it was probably wrong what happened, - but Helge, - please do not let others know that I have expressed this opinion to you!  I have of course not only experienced this so utterly cowardly, - but also downright hurtful and disappointing.  Almost like first giving me some support and hope, - only for seconds later take this away from you again!
Where was the real help and support I so much craved for in this situation?  Sadly I have to say that for the most part, and based on how I have experienced this, it has been almost non-existing for me.  Instead I have for almost 3 years now lived mostly alone doing my best to cope with both the emotional and worst, physical pain and other health problems, all part of my PTSD diagnosis.  What also must be mentioned is that during the past almost 3 years, I have experienced more support, understanding and even help from non-Christians.  And in particular I have TWO such persons in mind when I write this, one of them who has been nothing short of a life-saver during this period.

We do live in an increasingly rotten world.  But, knowing
this it becomes tragic that a part of this world some times is of the worst kind among Christians!

The society we all live in today across the world is increasingly rotten and falling apart on different levels.  We find dishonesty and lack of morality and basic ethics in almost all environments of our society.  In the political world, in the world of sports and not at least in the world of business, and of course (unfortunately) in the world of media.  In short, - everywhere!  I therefore easily understand non-Christians when they express their contempt and express that they had at lest expected better from Christians.

And the sad fact is, - they can not expect better from Christians!

I have now therefore, after having given this MUCH thought and consideration, made the following two decisions:  1)  I need to use my personal blog to share my own experiences and at the same time try to encourage others, both Christians and non-Christians, to get engaged in this.  2)  I want to try to prepare for bringing my last experience to court, - and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions and for the serious damage they inflicted upon me and just as important, on the others who also was damaged form their actions.  And at the same time during this process make it clear beyond doubt that it was WRONG!

I should also add that I am extremely tired and saddened from meeting other people, - non-Christian persons, - who share with me their negative experiences with Christians, or how they were severely damaged and even "stabbed in their back" from doing business with a Christian businessman.  And while this is being told to me, I am sitting there thinking of my own several very, very bad experiences from my business-dealings with "Christian brothers", and saying to myself:

Your story is, unfortunately, all too familiar!

This is why I now, starting with this post, makes an attempt to shine some light into these dark corners of the Christian faith.  Many will no doubt hot like what I am writing. Some may even attack me for what I share.  It does not matter.  I will not keep silent.

Therefore, among several other subjects I will keep on writing about here on my personal blog, other rather bad stories about this particular subject will also be published here in the near future.  You are hereby warned.  But, with that said, - you should also come back for several other very interesting posts. Some of them positive and with content which could help you and your loved ones in the rather stormy and otherwise difficult years our world is facing in the near future.

So, stay tuned!  And I wish for you and your loved ones to have a continued GREAT SUMMER season!
